Andy Cato is a co-founder of Wildfarmed and a prominent figure in the regenerative farming movement. Known for his previous career as half of the iconic electronic music duo Groove
Armada, Andy made a significant life change after becoming aware of the detrimental effects of the industrial food system. He sold his music rights to purchase a farm in France,
where he dedicated himself to developing sustainable farming practices.

Through years of hard work and experimentation, Andy co-founded Wildfarmed with George Lamb and Edd Lees.  The initiative aims to transform food production by growing regenerative wheat, oats and barley, which are supplied to over 1000 food businesses from micro-bakeries to cafe chains, and from Michelin-starred to high-street restaurants. Wildfarmed products are also available in supermarkets. 

 

Wildfarmed has a network of over 100 farmers across the UK who all grow crops in nature-rich landscapes, using farming practices designed to work with nature rather than against it to deliver positive environmental outcomes.

Andy’s commitment to regenerative agriculture has earned him notable recognition, including being knighted as a Chevalier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole in France and receiving
the Agro-ecological Innovation Prize. His work reflects a deep belief that food and farming are crucial to addressing the pressing environmental challenges we face today.

Now a tenant farmer with the National Trust in the UK, Andy continues to advocate for sustainable practices and the importance of healthy food systems. His journey from the music
industry to the fields of agriculture exemplifies a dedication to making a positive impact on both the environment and society. Through Wildfarmed, he is not only reshaping landscapes
but also inspiring a new generation to rethink their relationship with food.
